by Adelaine
I said "Goodbye..."
Not for the last time,
Nor for the first.
A typical departure,
I could almost cry.
Yet, not one would fall down,
Not a tear in my eye.
It was a twinkle of seconds,
When my sweat purely dried.
Yet what I not knew,
Was that part of me died.
I could almost go back,
To that hour of that day,
When all tranquil roads,
Were closed far away.
Come back here.
Just lend me your ear.
Help me today,
As you did yesterday.
Now, don't you cry.
We will still see each other.
My moment's goodbye,
I wish you'll remember.
